Mohair Fudge

Right after signing the publishing deal for Strands of Joy, I headed to a yarn shop, nurja, run by friends. I grabber a handfull of their beautiful handdyed yarn for designing. I didn't have to ponder for long before I was ready to cast on for this wonderful mohair silk cloud.

What: Mohair Fudge / Own pattern
How: Circular needle 4.0 mm
From: nurja merino single + nurja mohair, 460 g

Wearing this sweater really feels like wrapping yourself in a soft cloud.

The sweater gets its beautiful texture from merino and mohair silk held together.

The sweater starts from the top of an airy brioche cowl worked with two strands of mohair silk and continues with a round round colorwork yoke with one strand of mohair silk held together with merino singles.

The sweater has long sleeves and a sligthly A-line body with a cropped, slit hem. The sleeves are extra long on purpose so you can either let them gather at the wrist or fold the ribbing over.

The abstract colorwork pattern on the yoke reminded me of toffee swirling in hot water and hence, I named the design Mohair Fudge.

You can find all the info on the design below. Some of the photos were taken by Laine for the book and some we snapped ourselves.
