Clover

Next up is the thickest cardigan in the book, Clover.

What: Clover / Own pattern
How: Circular needle 5.0 mm
From: Brooklyn Tweed Shelter, 270 g

I knit mostly with fingering or sport weight yarns but I wanted to include plenty more in Strands of Joy. The book has several designs for DK weight yarn and Clover is designed for worsted weight.

This cardigan, named after the little colorwork clovers on the hem, is worked flat, top-down. It has long raglan sleeves and the body has a slight A-line shape.

The cardigan features a shawl collar worked in moss stitch and the cuffs and hem are also finished off with a bit of moss stitch.

Even though Clover is worked with a worsted weight yarn, Brooklyn Tweed Shelter is so airy that the finished cardigan is really light and comfortable to wear.

You can wear it open or close it with a shawl pin.

You can find all the info on the design below so you can start planning your own project. Some of the photos are by Laine for the book and some we took ourselves.
